Nutreco is one of the largest companies worldwide in the field of farm animal feed. The company realizes that digital propositions continue become more important in the future to keep their market share. This is why Nutreco developed ‘NutriOpt’. NutriOpt is a system to aid nutritionists in creating the best recipes for their clients.
The picture above shows the current product of NutriOpt. Although has many features, some are used sporadically. For this reason, I was asked to optimize the user experience of NutriOpt.
The first step was to identify what the system was about. A basic understanding of the features of NutriOpt was needed to recreate the experience. Many problems lie with the way data is (not) visualized witin the current system. Long tables with many variables make it difficult to get an overview of the work that needs to be done.
As a B2B product, the focus was on the many different ways users idealize their workflow. Experts over the whole world specialize in different areas which all needs to fit in the system. User research point out the needs and wishes form the different user and company types that use the system.
The picture above displays a first sketch towards the new NutriOpt. As versatile as the target group, the system needs to adapt to it. The result of the design overhaul is a task driven user interface, that allows users to access their needs on 3 different levels.

After the design was tested in a usability test with nutrition experts, I created a new visual language for the brand that would provide a more professional workspace for the users.
